Victory!

The nation breathes a sigh of relief. Our army has met the rebels on the field and managed to better them, if barely. However, The King and the people ask not by what margin, but only for victory. We all feel that this is the start of a glorious military tradition. The rabble has withdrawn in the direction of their capital, with our valorous Cossacks snapping at their heels.

Having helped preserve the army after the previous battle, this time they provided valuable intelligence of the route the Dreikoller army. Driven on with scant caution and inadequate scouting by their commissars, the rebel horde was ambushed on the western plain. The Royal army marched through the night and at dawn plunged straight into the left wing of the Dreikollers.

The breakthrough by the Mounted guard took longer than expected, and it was only with great judgment, courage and luck that our firing line held against the Dreikoller columns. Once the enemy's mounted wing was broken, he lost heart and quit the field.

Among the trophies captured by the victorious army was a battery of experimental howitzers. These are curiosities are currently being re-cast into a 10:1 scale bust of the victorious general's head. It is felt that using the bronze in this fashion will have more impact upon our enemies! Having learned from his cousin's mistakes, General Rechtflenker returned with both a victory and a flesh wound - having been charged by the bloodied remnants of the Dreikoller chevaliers in their frenzied attempt to escape - to earn the King's gratitude and respect.

We have driven off the rebel menace for the moment. His Glorious Majesty predicts that the revolution will implode and that it is time for us to turn our attentions else-where...

Hopefully, some talented artist was present to record the details of the event?

Looking forward to discover more,

First Citizen of Dreikolleur posted quite a nice report of our first clash on his site. hopefully he'll do the same with the second. although that may be winner's privlidge. although it may have a slightly different slant from my brief summary :)

Will by chance the other members of the 'Triad' (Krussia - Dreikoller) join Lichtengrein in the 'Emperor vs Elector' diplomatic blog?
